Twos R Us came into being in
1997 as the outlet through which David Hawkins
could sell MR2 parts that he was importing from
Japan. When that arrangement ceased in 1999, the
site became a personal site through which
information and technical articles were shared
along with sporadic sales of used parts and home
built trailer hitches and brackets for the MR2.
In 2000, through an arrangement with Chase
Product Development, Inc., the product line being
offered through Twos R Us expanded to include boost controllers,
end links, a trailer hitch
for the MR2 Spyder, valve cover
bolts for the 3S-GTE engine and gears to replace broken MKI power window
parts. In February of 2001, Club MR2 was formed to provide a more
traditional venue for MR2 enthusiasts and foster camaraderie among owners. In an effort to provide
quality products and discounts to Club members,
Twos R Us became the web based portal for
products produced or procured through the Club.
As such, Twos R Us is no longer an entity unto
itself, but merely the url for sales by Club MR2.
